Dokket is a tool for tradespeople to create quotes, schedule jobs and send invoices. This policy explains what information we hold, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
In short: your quotes, customers and photos are yours. We store them so the app works across your devices, and we never sell them or use them for advertising.
If you share an account with colleagues, everything on that account is visible to everyone on it. Section 03 explains exactly what that means.
01Who we are
Dokket ("we", "us") provides the Dokket app and website at dokket.co.uk. For data protection purposes we are the data controller for the account information described below. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@dokket.co.uk.
02What we collect
Information you give us
- Your account — the email address and password you sign up with.
- Your business details — the company name, logo, address, phone, VAT number and payment terms you add in Settings.
- Your work — the quotes, jobs, invoices, line items, photos, notes, signatures and schedules you create in the app.
- Your customers' details — the names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers you enter for the people you quote and invoice.
- Team membership — if you share an account with others, we record who belongs to it, what each person is allowed to do, and which person created or last changed each record.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data needed to run the service — for example, your login session and the times your data was last changed, so it can sync between your devices.
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies that follow you around the web.
03Shared accounts and teams
Dokket lets a business invite other people to share one account, so a team can work from the same quotes, jobs and calendar. If you use this feature, please read this section carefully — it changes who can see your information.
What everyone on an account can see
Records belong to the business account, not to the individual who created them. When you join an account, or invite someone to yours, everyone on that account can see:
- Every quote, job and invoice on the account, including the customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, notes and signatures they contain.
- The business details, price book and calendar for that account.
- The email address of each person on the account, and which of them created or last edited each record.
Owners and administrators of an account can additionally see the email address of the person who raised each individual quote or job.
Who controls a shared account
The account owner sets the business details, including the business name that appears on every quote and invoice sent from that account — including those sent by other members. Owners and administrators can invite people, change what each person is allowed to do, and remove people from the account.
Where a business invites its staff or subcontractors onto its account, that business is the data controller for the customer information held on it. Dokket processes that information on the business's behalf. If you are an account owner, you are responsible for deciding who may access your customers' data, and for removing people who should no longer have it.
Invitations
When someone invites you to their account, we store the email address the invitation was sent to, the role they chose for you, and a securely hashed one-time link, until you accept it or it expires. Invitations expire after seven days. If you never accept, the record of the invitation is removed. We do not email you again about it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Joining and leaving
If you join an account and already have work saved on your device, Dokket asks whether you want to move it into the shared account or keep it to yourself. Work you choose to keep private is not uploaded to that account.
If you are removed from an account, you lose access to its records immediately. The work you did while you were a member remains with the business, and your name or email address stays attached to it so the business has an accurate record of who did what. Your own login is unaffected and you keep any separate account of your own.
04Why we use it
We use your information only to provide the service:
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To store your quotes, jobs and invoices and sync them across your devices.
- To send emails on your behalf — quotes, invoices and reminders go to your customers from your account, with replies coming back to you.
- To send you essential account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password.
- To keep the service secure and working properly.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a marketing profile of you.
05The services we rely on
To run Dokket we use a small number of trusted providers, who process data on our behalf under their own strict security terms:
- Supabase — secure database and login. Stores your account, quotes and business details.
- Netlify — hosts the website and app.
- Resend — delivers the emails Dokket sends (quotes, invoices, reminders, account emails).
Your quote PDFs and job photos are stored in private cloud storage that is only accessible through your account.
06How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have a Dokket account. If you delete a quote or job, it is removed from your account. Records on a shared account belong to that account: if you leave it, or are removed from it, those records stay with the business. If you close your account, we delete your data, though backups may persist for a short period before they are overwritten.
07Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong — most of which you can edit yourself in the app.
- Delete your data — you can clear your quotes and jobs from Settings, or ask us to remove your account entirely.
- Export your data — you can download all your records as a spreadsheet at any time.
- Object to or restrict how we use your data.
- Leave a shared account at any time. If you are its only owner, you will need to pass ownership to someone else first.
To exercise any of these, email hello@dokket.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
08Security
Your data is stored in secure, access-controlled databases. Each business account can only reach its own data, enforced at the database level rather than by the app alone — so one business can never see another's quotes, customers or photos. Within an account, what each person can do is set by their role. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Connections to Dokket are encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
09Children
Dokket is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Continuing to use Dokket after a change means you accept the updated policy.
