These terms are the agreement between you and Dokket for using the app and website. We've kept them plain rather than burying the important bits in legal boilerplate.
In short: use Dokket for running your trade business, keep your login safe, and be straight with your own customers. We provide the tool and try to keep it running; you're responsible for the work you quote and invoice through it.
01Who these terms are with
These terms are between you ("you", "your") and Dokket ("we", "us", "our"), which provides the Dokket app and website at dokket.co.uk. By creating an account or using Dokket, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Questions? Email hello@dokket.co.uk.
02Who can use Dokket
Dokket is a business tool for tradespeople and other businesses. To use it you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be using it for your trade, business or profession, not as a consumer.
- Give accurate account details and keep them up to date.
You're responsible for everything done under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly at hello@dokket.co.uk if you think someone else has got into it.
03What Dokket does
Dokket helps you create quotes, schedule jobs, send documents and raise invoices, and it can send emails to your customers on your behalf — including automatic reminders and chasers if you switch them on. It's a tool to help you run your work; it doesn't do the work, give you business or legal advice, or guarantee you'll get paid.
04Your content and your customers
Everything you put into Dokket — your quotes, jobs, photos, notes and your customers' details — stays yours. We don't claim ownership of it, and we only use it to run the service for you, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Because you decide what goes in, you're responsible for making sure:
- You have the right to store and use the customer information you enter.
- You handle that information lawfully — for example, only emailing people about work you've agreed to do.
- Your quotes, invoices and prices are accurate. Dokket adds up what you type; it can't know if a figure is wrong.
As between you and your customer, any contract for the work is directly between the two of you. Dokket is not a party to it.
05Shared accounts
Dokket lets a business invite other people to share one account, so a team can work from the same quotes, jobs and calendar. Records belong to the business account, not to the individual who created them.
Roles
- Owner — full control, including business details, billing, inviting and removing people, and deleting all records. Every account must have at least one owner.
- Admin — everything the owner can do except billing.
- Member — can raise and edit quotes and jobs, but cannot change the business details or delete all records.
- Viewer — can see the account's work but cannot change anything.
If you own an account
You decide who joins it, and you are responsible for who you invite. Everyone you add can see every quote, job and invoice on the account, including your customers' names, addresses, contact details and photographs. Only invite people who are entitled to that information, and remove them promptly when they are not.
You control the business details for the account, including the business name shown on every quote and invoice sent from it — including those sent by other people on the account. If you change the business name, everyone on the account is told.
Where you invite staff or subcontractors onto your account, you are the data controller for the customer information held on it, and Dokket processes that information on your behalf.
If you join someone else's account
Your quotes and invoices will go out under that business's name and details, not your own. The account owner can see the work you raise, change what you are allowed to do, and remove you at any time.
If you already have work saved on your device when you join, Dokket asks whether to move it into the shared account or keep it to yourself. Work you keep private stays on your device and is not shared with the business.
If you leave or are removed, you lose access to the account's records immediately. Work you did while you were a member stays with the business, with your name attached to it.
06Acceptable use
Please don't use Dokket to:
- Send spam, scams, or emails to people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
- Break the law, infringe someone's rights, or handle anyone's data unlawfully.
- Upload malware, or try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service.
- Get around the app's security, access other users' data, or resell Dokket as your own.
If an account is used this way, we may suspend or close it to protect the service and other users.
07Availability, changes and beta
We work to keep Dokket running and improving, but we can't promise it will always be available or completely free of faults. We may add, change or remove features, and we may carry out maintenance that briefly interrupts the service.
08Price
Dokket is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans in future, we'll tell you clearly in advance, and any charges will only apply to features you actively choose to pay for. You'll never be charged without agreeing to it first.
09Ending your use
You can stop using Dokket at any time. You can clear your quotes and jobs from Settings, or ask us to remove your account entirely by emailing hello@dokket.co.uk. When an account is closed we delete its data, though backups may persist for a short period before they're overwritten, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we reasonably need to protect the service, other users or ourselves. Where it's fair to do so, we'll give you notice first.
10Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that can't lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Beyond that, and because Dokket is provided to you for your business:
- The service is provided "as is". We don't give guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what the law requires.
- We're not liable for business losses — such as lost profits, lost business, lost goodwill, or a customer you didn't win or weren't paid by. You remain responsible for chasing and collecting your own money; the reminder features are a help, not a guarantee.
- We're not responsible for the acts of your customers, or for problems caused by services outside our control (for example, your internet connection, or an email provider placing a message in a junk folder).
Where we are liable to you, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us to use Dokket in the 12 months before the claim — which, while the service is free, is nil. This doesn't affect the rights you have under law that can't be excluded.
11Your responsibility to us
Because you control what you send through Dokket, you agree to cover us for any claims, losses or costs that arise from your use of the service in breach of these terms — for example, a complaint arising from emails you sent to people who hadn't agreed to hear from you, or content you weren't entitled to use.
12Changes to these terms
If we make significant changes we'll update this page and change the date at the top, and where the change matters we'll try to let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Dokket after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found not to apply, the rest carries on unaffected.
14Contact
